Hello all,
I decided to get a small aquarium with a couple gold fish just for my kids. But when I got to the pet store, I got a little carried away.
I orignally planned to buy an all in one type setup in the 5-10 gallon range. I ended up walking out with a 25 gallon (20 gallon footprint but taller) and all the trimmings.
For now we just have a pair of Austrailian Rainbows and a pair of other fish that I forgot what they are called. Hey im new,
Along with some plastic plants of variou sizes and a little air powered pickup truck where the bubbles come out of the exhaust pipe and they pop the hood open every few seconds.
The tank has been setup and running for about a week and a half now and the fish are still alive so I guess Im on the right track so far.
I still need to buy some testing kits for the water. Ive been feeding them once per day. Ive read that twice a day might be better, but Ive still got more reading to do on that. I still havent ironed out a routine for water changes yet either. I suppose that is something I will need to do weekly or every couple weeks? I just need to search the forum I guess.
