Greetings everyone,
I have also started this fascinating hobby, and am learning something new everyday. I presently have three Bettas and as of yesterday 2 new Otos.
My wife just gave me the rolling of the eyes routine because I was talking to my fish and have given them names as well!
I like to think of the fish as mini personalities with many demands, but which I feel add up to a rewarding experience for myself and the kids as well.
The Bettas are very selective concerning tank-mates, I had to get rid of my Swordtales because the female was attacking everything in sight, (they ended up as a gift to a buddy with a huge tank) and my only snail R.I.P, ended up as a protein supplement. I tried to introduce blanched cucumber last night to my Otos, but they ignored it completely. (Tonight I'll try Zuchini). As for Algae tabs, the Otos ignored these and my Betas ended up eating them instead, little pigs they eat everything (even tried to eat the cucumber)!
