Another Question About Sand Substrate

Play sand is tiny and compacts easily. A cheap better source is pool filter sand. Its a slightly larger grain and compacts less. Harlock uses this sand with great success aparently.
I do! I love it and I heard about it from someone else on this board... wish I could remember who it was. Anyway, you can look at the link in my sig for results. Keep in mind I removed exactly half of the Wisteria I had and then cut the other half in half again and replanted. Give it two weeks and it will be full and taking over the tank again. Also, my swords do well, my Parrot's feather has doubled in size over the past week. Pool filter sand is a nice light color, packs less and roots find it easy to spread out in. Also, my cory cats love it. When you turn off the light you can actually see little mouth prints all over the sand... funny sutff.
