Hello all, I was wondering with the list below of tank mates can I put a red fin shark, or rainbow shark in my tank, leaving enough room for everyone when the shark is full grown? Or are the too aggressive with the others? Thanks

I am pretty sure a rainbow shark would do just fine with those other fish listed, and also leave plenty of room for growing up!! Not 100% sure about the angel fish, but hopefully someone else will be along to correct me if I'm wrong

the shark will get along fine with the Angel fish, regardless of whether it's a red-tailed or rainbow. I have both (an Angel and a red-tailed black shark) and I'm not 100% that they know one another even exists. The sharks are typically aggressive with their own species or those that resemble them closely in regards to body type.... in other words (which by your post it seems you are aware), to try to keep a rainbow AND a red-tail, you'll be reaching a definite recipe for disaster. Provide a nice cave for which ever ya get and that shark will more than likely stick to that area.

Just checked my list of fish compatibility printed off the net, and they say Red Tailed Shark doesn't go with Angelfish. Then again, this could just be the guy's opinion. I have no experience with these two. But I did find out that Red-Finned Sharks don't grow as big as their other cousins, like, say, Bala Sharks. And they are territorial when it comes to their own species.

I'm thinking it's an opinion more than anything because I've never had a problem. That's with mixing the rainbow and the angel as well as the red-tailed with the angel. Provided of course you're putting both in a 55 gallon or bigger of course. Placing them in a 20 gallon (for example) is when this might be a problem. The tight quarters would provoke aggression with any species though if the space clearly was good for one only (if any).
