So I followed the advice of Mgamer and stol1 and when I tested my kh it took 3 drops to turn yellow. I am however missing the instructions (no wonder I thought I needed a card). I know from my last post that means 3 degrees, but what does that mean?

thanks. Is this a good number? At the age of aquariums site they mention that a KH of less than 70 will result in a ph crash, but I've also read that low kh just means more frequent changes & monitoring of ph. I couldn't find anything on whether 53.7 is low or not. Should I raise the kh? I wonder if this had anything to do with the fish death I had today. My ph is usually stable at 7, but it's been 7.2 for a little bit. It's been almost a week since I did a water change, or any other change for that matter.

by the way, I know your quote is dexter, but is your image as well?
