I have a slightly overfiltered (650gph of HOB) 55g with moderate plant load, with swords, crypts, java moss&fern, and anubias, 2.0wpg, and pressurized co2, and the following inhabitants:

4 angels
2 kribs
4 cories
4 black phantom tetras (will be moving to my 10g as soon as I have enough plant cuttings from my 55 to put in it, about a month)

Do you think I could add a bristlenose pleco? Those guys are so cute... in an ugly sort of way, and they do a decent job of cleaning glass or so I hear...

I don't see a problem with that other than if the kribs are a breeding pair, the pleco and them might have a little problem. I had a bristlenose in with my neo. multies and the pleco is not too "smooth" with his cleaning methods and the multies didn't care much for him sloshing around in their shells or near their area and would constantly pick at him. I've moved him to a planted 65 and he regularly gets some "looks" from my angel or rainbows but they don't seem to bother him. I'd find a place you can return him to if there is a problem between the two unless you have another tank for it. I love mine, it's a great pleco, just doesn't touch hair algae but I'm not about to put a regular pleco in my planted tank. Kyle

Thanks for the advice. I doubt the kribs will ever breed, they're a male and a female but only chase each other around the tank, usually staying on opposite ends hiding from each other. My lfs is good though and would take him back if things got ugly.

I am going to go see if my lfs has any in stock in a couple hours

Thanks again

wee! :D I got a cute little 1 inch bristlenose! :dance no bristles yet but his head is shaped like a bristlenose, the employee who (sorta) knws what she's talking abotu said he was a bristlenose, and if you look close he has little buds of what might be the bristles. anywho I also saw 2 very exceptionally nice emerald cories, so I picked those up. so now I have 4 small-medium (4 inches top to bottom) angels, 2 kribs, 6 cories, 4 black phanton tetras(soon to move out) and a 1" bristlenose. safely stocked still, IMO

I'd love to see a picture of the little guy, he must be adorable at 1" long!
I'd say you're safely stocked, especially since you're overfiltered and some of the fish are being evicted soon ;)

I have an albino BN pleco in a 35 gallon with some other fish, including a pair of breeding kribs. There was recently a bunch of fry swimming the tank but the pleco didn't get harassed much. Mine is nearly full grown I think, somewhere around 3 inches.

The albino varieties are pretty nice looking I think. When healthy they are a nice golden yellow colour.

I'll try and get a picture of him. he IS really cute but he's hanging out behind the heater for now so I can't get a good look at him. hopefully he'll come out in a few days once he's used to his new surroundings.

I've been trying to get a picture of him. He's really cute but stays in the corners. I think my angels scare him, hehe. they're really curious about him for some reason and follow him around. no agression... they just get an inch away and watch him

Eventually you're going to probably have to separate those angels to only 2 of them. When two of them pair off it's going to become a warzone, especially if the kribs are a pair. Then you may have to remove more than two angels.

I am aware I might have to seperate the angels if two pair off... Actually I remember discussing this here at one point. I thitnk the thread topic was kribs and angels or something like that. anyway I was goign to get 3 angels but decided 4 was a better number so that if two paired off, at least it wouldn't be only one getting the aggression until I could get the other two moved out. As for the kribs, like I said, I don't think they'll ever pair up. They're not exactly buddy buddy with each other, hehe
