Another request for opinions on my stocking level...

At 1", they really are cute. I bought one that unfortunately died the next day. It was really sad. I exchanged him (I hate talking about fish like they're products) for an adult one who is doing quite well. I was really looking forward to watching the small one grow.

Mine doesn't clean a lick of algae, really, (I guess I don't need him too, either), and he likes to knock newly planted plants out of the gravel, too. I love him just the same, though.

Do you have any wood in the tank?

Aggression from an angelfish pair isn't something you can "spread-out". The dominant pair will become dominant over the WHOLE tank, not just one side, or part of it. The other two and any other mid to top dwelling fish will be attacked constantly until they either die, or cower in the corner 99% of the time. They also won't grow as fast, as the dominant pair will bully the majority of the food away.
 
I don't agree that your going to have to separate the angels after they pair off. In a 55 gallon there should be plenty of room from two pairs, especially since the tank is planted. Sure there is going to be some bullying and aggression, but it shouldn't be horrible. The pair is still going to have two other angels to pick on, the kribs, and the cories. You should be fine with that stocking level, even if the kribs and angels pair off. The kribs will establish a territory on the bottom level, maybe bother the cories a little, but they will probably leave the bristlenose alone, especially after they find out that bristlenoses have a set of retractable spikes on either side of the head that they do not hesitate to use when harassed. I'd love to see a picture of the tank.

the little guy is getting chased around (nonaggressively) by the angels less now, so maybe he'll be able to get at an algae wafer before the corys get it one of these days, hehe

Well it isn't in great shape at the moment, but I took some pictures anyway. The plants need some substrate nutrients (I got flourish root tabs) and the diatoms are taking over:mad: I didn't have a tripod, so please excuse the low picture quality and excessive contrast... I had to set my camera to 1600 iso.

Diavolo is the only really good looking one but he wouldn't turn sideways for me
