another sand question

i happened to come across a used tank fer dirt cheap at the thrift store and wanted to try out something new rather than the usual gravel.

i want to try out sand cause its a lot cheaper and more natural i think. but im not sure which direction to go. is it better to get larger coarser grain sand or finer smaller grain sand?

it is usually better to get larger grained sand. larger grained sand like pool iflter sand is less likley to remain suspended in the water and sucked into the filter, where it can degrade the impeller.

so would the large grained sand be ok fer bottom feeders like corys?

Yes, as long as it is smaller than 4mm, it's fine.
