I have a male crowntail betta in a 75 gallon community tank that includes gouramis, boesemani rainbows, diamond tetras and Odessa barbs. The only problem is during feedings. My betta is no dummy when it comes to food. He'll swim up to the front of the tank and wait for me to distract the other fish with food at the far end of the tank before I drop some food in front of his face. Of course, the other fish start swarming as soon as they realize there's food floating around the betta, which causes him to hole up in his little corner of the tank until the feeding frenzy is over. And therein lies the problem. That's why I've decided to set up a small tank just for my pretty betta boy. He deserves to eat in peace.
