Another tank? Am I obsessed?

In my experience, tanks are cheap. It's the accessories that are expensive... filters, canopies, lights, air pumps, heaters... did i leave anything out?

tai stop lying like you really have 8 big tanks in one room. by the way what is you avatar? i cant figure it out :D

Well, I'm married and I'm told that 3 tanks are my limit. It's a fine line.
Sure I may be able to manage a 10 gallon tucked away somewhere.. eventually, but the very possibility of snagging this 40g depends on selling the 12. It's an eclipse and I really REALLY don't like it. I'm sort of justifying the purchase as a breeding hobby deal, and we both don't like the 12g.

So the question is really keep the 12, or sell it and get a 40. Well, sell the 12 and get either a 20l or a 40b... that's what my situation is.

And while the 40 is big for any breeding I may do... I suppose I COULD use a divider and have two 18x18x16 cubes. One half coule be for breeding, maybe use the other for breeding, or for separating fish for one reason or another... I don't know. Just a though.

I say if you are limited to 3, then go as big as possible on the three. You can always keep some extra sponges mature in one of the bigger tanks, and then buy a suction cup internal filter and a cheap rubbermaid bin to use as a quarantine tank in a pinch.

Well, I'm sure I'll eventually be able to find a place to keep a 10 gallon for emergency purposes.

They seem so small now, when I was a kid, I had a 10 gallon and thought it was big.... and it was, compared to my 5 gallon.
See, even then I had two tanks, I didn't know what I was doing, but I had two tanks. Biological filtration? What's that? How about 80% water changes? I had a horrible mix of fish as well.
