i know these type of threads are a dime a dozen but i need some help. i have a 150 gallon with 2 red-tail tinfoil barbs, 1 African cichlid, and a zebra danio. my tank is looking quite empty and i am wanted to get something else to put in there but i dont know what would fit in with the fish i already have. thanks in advance

Danios and barbs like company. I would get more of each those, to bump the groups up to 5 or 6 at the least. After that, maybe some nice bottom-dwelling catfish. What are your temp and hardness like?

:iagree:

I would rehome the kenyi for a start (they need a speceies setup).
What fish do you like?

well, i am a very impatient person. so about 10 minutes after i poster this thread i had to go and but something just to hold me over. so i bought 6 zebra danios and a black rope fish. I dont know too much about them but the guy at the LFS told me he would be fine in my tank. if you guys know anything about them please let me know.

Don't tinfoil barbs get like 16" long? It's always a good policy to not buy impulsively, impatient or not, because you can end up wasting a lot of money and time. Always research your fish in books and good websites like this one beforehand.

Tinfoil barbs will do fine in a 150g tank.

Ropefish are predatory, but I doubt they will harm your fish- the barbs and cichlid are too big, the danios too active. When I had one I fed him sinking shrimp pellets, frozen bloodworms, and live shrimp.
