I'm not sure if it helps, but I visit mom and pop sub shops and will tip expotentially higher than in a big restaurant. I also stay loyal to my local sub shop because of location (15-20 feet away) and the fact that they are nice, but not too nosy or talkative. I could care less about the price and selection, as I'll eat almost anything, and I tip any leftover money I have designated for food that day.
