I've head this term a lot, but don't know what a mother plant is, or what's special about it. As a matter of fact, I don't know how to cultivate and propigate Anubias Nanas. I have 2 in my tank currently, but not sure if they are "mother" plants. I have seen one where there seems to be a flower on it, would that be the "mother"? Are those the only ones able to reproduce?

I think mother plant is referring to the size of the anubias mainly due to the fact that anubias propagation is done by rhizome division. In any case, mother plants are usually large :D

Hamsterman is correct. The word mother is used to refer to the size when they are lagre plants. Sellers usually sell them in 4" to 6" pots. Quick and easy way to get a large and beautiful show piece for your tank.

Every couple of months the Anubias plant will start sprouting off about 6 baby rhizomes. I noticed this happened after the same anubias plant flowered. When the babies have about 5 leaves and have some roots, you can take a sharp razor blade and just trim them off and replant.
