Any Blackberry Pearl 8130 user out there? Verizon

I got the Curve, and I really like it. I think the best part is the keyboard layout, like others have said. You can type an email and it doesn't seem like you're just typing a text message. I don't find it to be excessively large, either.

I don't know how much you've looked in to the Blackberry plans, but just so you know, you are obligated to buy the data plan with the Blackberry. It's an extra $30 per month so be prepared to pay a lot more on your monthly bill. But, if you like killing time on the internet all day (as I do, lol) then it may be worth it to you. And yes, it works with AC, Youtube, etc!:) Also, you can put up to an 8GB micro sd card in there, and store a bunch of pics or music or whatever. Overall, I'm really glad I bought it, but tbh if I had known the breakup was coming and how short on cash I would be, I probably would have skipped it, at least for now. I also have Verizon and I'm looking at about $90-$100 total for my bill, although I won't find out for sure until my ex's second line runs out its contract.
 
Fair enough, but while I'm working I'm more often than not out of range. And work is where I waste time on the internet the most!;)

And, I looked at a WiFi phone at T Mobile, and although you weren't required to have a data plan, the phone itself is quite pricey. Plus, the Blackberry data plan rule is handed down from RIM, not the service providers, afaik.
 
I'd suggest something, but I'm employed by the competition. ;)

Yes, I'd rather have the curve. I don't know the difference in all the features and/or capabilities, but IMO a pearl was designed for a woman. It's very small. I have had big hands all my life and I have a hard time typing on the pearl. I frequently press 2 buttons at once because they are so small. That's really my only gripe about the pearl. It just seems to me they were made with a woman's small hands in mind.
 
personally i have a blackberry world phone, full keyboard i hate it, always dials numbers in my pocket, half the buttons dont work anymore. it powers down and i have to remove and replace the battery to get it to turn on again ....
