6 small cories (max. 2") and max. 3 guppies will be fine in a 7gal. If you want to go for dwarf cories, you could have 8 rather than 6 (no more due to swim space). weekly water changes of 50% or so would be advisable. Don't get any cory species larger than 2" because a 7gal won't provide enough swimming space.

I have 4 cories 3 ghost shrimp and two guppies in a 10 gal. with monthly water changes of 30% and they are all very happy healthy little guys, the cories all school together on the bottom searching around for food. you should be fine with a 7 gal. maybe 3 cories and some gupps or neons or something would be good.
