Pseudomugil gertrudae
Common names: Spotted Blue-eye or Gertrude’s Blue-eye

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this variety of Rainbowfish? I have read that they may be annual but not certain, does anyone know for sure?

I haven't seen anything that would indicate they are annuals. Otherwise, they would be advertised as an Australian killifish. The best link on rainbows is below, but does not answer your question one way or another.

I have kept P. gertrudae, P. furcata, and P. signifer for more than a year. Their lifespan is not as long as the larger rainbows', IME, and they are also a bit more aggressive than the Melanotaenia spp -- I kept them in a community tank with tetras and M. boesemani to no ill effect, but I don't think I'd mix them with long-finned, slower-moving fish like angels.

Downright, thanks for the info .....
What size groups and what sex ratio did you have, and did they breed?

Check out the Rainbowfish Study Group too. I'm a nut about Bow's. Putting together a 90 rainbow/community in the next few months.
