Any ideas for fish?

My sig. has my current fish load. I'm not real taken with the Tetra's or the Bala Shark. They are going to go. I would also like to get rid of the Platys, but my wife picked them out so they have to stay.

Here is a list of constraints:
My tank has too many silver(ish) fish in it. I need some color.
I'm trying to stay with relatively small-medium fish.
I like oddballs. But it is not a necessity.
New arrivals must get along with each other and encumbants.
I have a lot of bottom dwellers so they have to be mid to top dwellers.

I was thinking of 2 pairs of German Blue Rams. But if anyone has a favorite fish they would like to point out or an idea on what might be a good choice, let me know. Thanks.

The rams will probably want to stake out some territory. They'll find a suitable place and defend the area - looks like your tank has a lot of fish that want their own area of the substrate, so this might make things a bit difficult for them.
If the tank is heavily planted, you might want to try cardinal tetras - they're unbelievably beautiful in a large tank, swimming in a shoal from end to end, and very colourful. Without lots of plants to hide in, they may end up as snacks for the angels or catfish.
Harlequin rasboras are also gorgeous in large groups, a nice pinky orange with a large black mark near the tail - no silver in sight ;)
Cherry barbs are great fish, probably my favourite of all. They're sweet tempered (not at all nippy like other barbs can be), stay small, and the males are a fantastic cherry red. The females are a nice shade of caramel with a darker stripe.

good points, all of them. id go with some solid orange swordtails, or perhaps a discus or 2, they're solid color.
