Any idea's on stocking schooling fish?

huh? what? i don't understand what you mean. you said you wanted schooling fish suggestions, and I suggested harlequin rasboras. they are schooling fish. i don't understand your point. and how does the fact I have no loaches have anything to do with this? i've had many loaches in the past. I stand by what I said.... you have enough bottom feeders in there already. no cories, or you'll be overstocked. I said bottom feeders, not fish in general.

Ok first my bad... I thought that the cories were more of an all over tank fish. I apologize for biting your head off:( Thank you for your advise I appreciate it and will strongly consider it.

No offense fish catch22 but looking at you profile you have a 10 gal tank with no loaches. The burmese can grow up to 4 inches, the zebra a top of 3 and kulli's are full grown. I am interested in schooling fish and you yourself sugg harlequin rasboras. I do not understand why you need to banter with some one who is like you offering a IMO sugg. I do appreciate your advice but would appreciate others as well. Thanks
Unless your loaches are over 10 years old do not assume they are full grown. Loaches can take years to grow out fully. The burmese loach grows to 4-5" on average which means it can grow larger than this as well. Zebra loaches grow 3-4" on average. Loaches should be kept in groups of their own kind as well. It may best to return some of them and keep a larger group of one species. As far as schooling fish go you really do not have enough room to add the numer of fish to need to "school".

What I have read on the internet is that generally fish will "school" ( I use that loosley as we're talking about loaches) with- in a species. Is this correct? If it is then are they not OK having 4 loaches? Like I said the two really hang out and the kulli loaches are a new addition. I will not get any more bottom feeders.

I am confused about the amount of fish I shoul have... I understandthis is variable with PO but gennerally for a 29 gal tank how many bottom, mid and upper fish can I have...

I think your loaches will be fine as they are. I think some loaches do better than others alone, like zebras and burmese IMO don't need groups as much as say, clown or dwarf loaches, but I think it might be best fi you returned either the zebra or the burmese, or just return them both and get another khulii. you might do well to get a few more cherry barbs to give them a proper group. 2-3 more should do.

if you give back either the zebra or the burmese loach or the two and get another khulii (my personal reccomendation) and them get 2-3 more barbs, then you will be full.
