Any one else own Celestial Pearl Danios? Food question here.

Mine like frozen cyclops, daphnia & baby brine shrimp & finely crushed flake of several kinds. I hold the flake underwater, my CPDs won't eat from the surface.

Mine go nuts for BBS. All of the other suggestions sound good as well. Best of luck with them! :)

Wow, lots of good suggestions here. I will be making a trip to the LFS this afternoon, or tomorrow, and pick up some bloodworms, and probably some shelved dry product. I did notice they won't come to the surface, so I agitated the surface a bit, so the flakes would go under.

I am trying to keep high hopes for them, my well water is surprisingly soft and acidic, and I plan on having a species only tank, save for the two otos. I plan on getting a 55 in the next month or two, and may just concentrate on breeding them, and use my 10g to raise the fry.

Tetramoon - nature is wonderful. The adult CPD's don't go to the surface. Want to guess where the free swimming fry head and stay?

ummmmm.....is it the surface?

Yes, I found that pretty amazing. It's like the adults rarely look up!:)

frozen baby brine shrimp, hikari first bites and flake food crushed up powdery, and let it sink with the outflow of filter also it helps to have a sponge filter in there to grow tiny micro gunk for them and the fry,. also keep some brigs in there to keep the tank clean and the snails help with providing the fry with food, i have very many, perhaps 75 of them in my 46 bowfrnt and a few in my 15g

haha, they're eating! I figured I'd try one more time before I do a w/c and lights off for the night. A bit of crushed flake. Thanks everyone for your help.
