Did you ever try lighting your tank at an angle of 60 degrees?
Light falling through the front glass on them may show you some colors that are not visible when the light is coming straight from above. This is absolutely true for my Malawi Peacocks. Their colors are far more iridescent when this light is swiched on.
You should try it.
