Any suggestions to other Internet providers

i've had great success using yahoo. Its a LOT faster than AOL and it sure is a lot more pleasant to use.

That sounds good to me, only if any problems should arise, can you call yahoo?

When im about to be finished in copying all the links I want, I see all I have to do is go to yahoo and sign up. :)

And if the screen what I see at prior to sign up, that that be the screen I will be exploring the net with? Or is it almost look near as the same to AOL for AOL has been my only provider since I was on my first computer for im only on the net for about 12 years about. Thanks

Here comcast and charter are the big cable/phone/internet providers. No problems with the internet itself, most is with the computers...I never use IE anymore, a lot of bad experiences. I go Firefox all the way and I'm pretty happy so far.

You can pick whatever startup screen you want. I use Google as my startup screen. As far as I know, Yahoo is just a website, not an ISP or browser. (Maybe AT&T SBC Yahoo?) Unless you're also talking about an Instant Messenger; I prefer Yahoo or MSN, there.

Thanks people, believe me when I say you people are being very helpful in this, I just however require just a little bit of more help in this :)

On the MSN, Which of these would I need best to go with

PS. I forgotten to ask this, but will I have a favorite places like on AOL for to save my links? If not, I would need then to not only keep these links in a word pad, but also on a disk for safe keeping in any case my computer has some type of serious problem and looses data.

Startup page/Home page: http://www.msn.com/
Email: http://login.live.com/login.srf?id=2&svc=mail&cbid=24325&msppjph=1&tw=900&fs=1&lc=1033&_lang=EN
Instant Messenger: http://webmessenger.msn.com/

Some of the other links you posted are from other countries or are 'extra features' of the main website.
Are you looking for an email account, Instant Messenger Program, or just a home page? None of those are ISP's. I'm a bit confused as to what you want.

If you're looking for just a Service Provider then go to the RoadRunner website for additional help.

You can keep your favorites/bookmarked links in Firefox or Internet Explorer at the very top of the page in the toolbar.
AOL is basically just an intrusive, over-glorified browser. Firefox and Inernet Explorer will do the same without all the unnecessary 'bells and whistles.'
If you can still connect to the internet without AOL, and don't plan on using it anymore, then just uninstall it and keep doing things the way you are now. Use Firefox as your browser instead and manually set it up to suit your preferences. Go to tools/options in the toolbar once inside Firefox.

Well, IM even more confused for I not had anything other then AOL and im not sure if all or most Internet service to same as what I had much with AOL like when your a favorite link, you can click to save, will I be able to do this at MSN? If not, I would need to save items on a disk in case any computer problems and I lost much from that.

This is like when I took my first step in life, im not in the knowing of what to expect like when I first start my first marine tank>

Also I know that I can do thing only in Internet explorer and Firefox, but I would not then have a email address and then I would have to check back on anything I responded too each day when I might have the time. I do remember a long time ago that I signed up on google or somewhere but I not remember where for I also used that once to read my email from my AOL screen name. I do hope that you follow what im trying to say for I get dizzy now when I move anything when sign in on AOL for things move and jumps crazy like.

Im still a lot of links in my AOL favorites and I find a number of links to be saved more then 3-4 times. Im not saving everything, just links to corals and Coral Diseases and such things as that. I time and can deal with things as they are now until I complete the task of not having to have to look again for these same links.

Thanks, im no time now to do anything much for soon I have to go and get the kids from school and summer camp> :)

As of now, I cannot work on my own computer at all for I took it in for service at Intrex to have AOL removed all together and while its there, they run a virus check.

Today I made copies of certain links like on coral disease and corals in which I like to know more about and tomorrow hopefully I will put on one disk all the articles I have in favorites and once that is done, I will cancel AOL, period.

I figure to go with MSN>

Once I my computer back, I will need to get back in here and copy the links to MSN>

AOL for the past month or so was nothing more then a pain for the most part and it be time for a change :headbang2:

FYI, if you want to have yahoo, AOL, MSN messenger all in the same messaging protocol(for instance if you had multiple friends that used different IM clients), there are tons of applications that enable you to use them all (so you don't have to have MSN, AOL, Yahoo, google talk, etc. windows open)

I personally use Trillian www.trillian.cc
And as a web developer and savvy computer tech, I beg you don't use internet exploder, it's evil
