Anybody know what this is?

Hi all,

I found this under my lava rocks the last time I re-arranged the tank. Any idea what it might be?

It's kind of grey/red/brown and really slimy.

It's "mulm" IMO. This is just an umbrella word for what detritus in your tank breaks down into. Although it is not bacteria, it sure is good bacteria food or snail food.

What is the scale of that gelatinous creature, its round translucent body look large compared to those three brown organs which I suppose are 2 eye and a mouth...A bit cockeyed creature.:hypnotized:

Detritus or mulm. Folks should regularly lift their rocks/decorations, if possible, and gravel vacuum underneath them. If you have a big array of rocks, then using a powerhead or other water jet to flush the detritus out from under and between the rocks and then doing your gravel vacuum and tank maintenance would also work.
