There is more to life than a job, sometimes you just need to stop and smell the flowers, go to the beach, get away from the world and not be bothered with work.
It is called a "mental health day"
Are you really sick when u call in sick..yes u are you are not lying when you call in sick....Cause you are sick: Sick of work!!!

I firmly beleive that at least two times a year people should call in sick....sick of work!
I firmly beleive that they will be better employees in the long run; and more productive when they are at work.

Some people receive 250 million dollar bonuses to put their company into bankruptcy. These are the same people whose country club dues, golf green fees, and days at the spa are being paid for by the company they work for and the time they spend golfing is considered a business meeting.
Since I do not earn that type of bonuse, nor does my company pay for me to play golf or have a spa day; I figure I am at least entitled to take a sick day that they give me. So sometimes I am real sick..real sick of work!

I feel the same. Usually if I take one day off the following day the place has gone down the pipes...takes me weeks to catch up one 1 DAY!

I have never "played hookie" from work. I have however in my 30+ years of working taken a "mental health day". There are times when you just need a day for yourself. Not Mr. or Mrs. So-n-so, or Mom or Dad, or for any of the other people in our lives that we "give" our days off to. Just occasionally, the opportunity to do what you want when you want whether it is to go 2 hours to an aquarium and zoo, or to do absolutely nothing.

In theory I agree with you, but only in theory.
 
Ah mental health break sounds like it wouldn't make me feel as guilty. Nor as blah for taking Vac and not really going on vacation... thanks for the idea snoopy & dean!

I work for an IT company. Part of my job is to check backups daily for all our clients. Last time I took off (this time because my dog was sick and needed a vet visit) no one checked the backups. One clients backup broke and when I came back they needed a file, but we had no current backup of it. I got bawled out by their primary tech and then bawled out my boss for the backup not working. Then they realized I hadn't been there the day I was supposed to check it and walked off. No apologies from either of them, but no punishments either. So I'm scared of what would happen if I took a week off. Imagine the things I'd get yelled at for.
 
Whenever I feel like it.
It's one of the many freedoms that I enjoy.
 
Id call in dead if I could, I cant stand working inside.


But yes I have, Dont do it now due to having to save that time when the daughter has an episode. Gotta take care of the family now, god I cant wait till they are grown.
