I will be making a trip to KC tomorrow and will have some time to roam the city a bit. I would like to find a nice lfs and maybe do a little browsing. My main goal is to at least get some nice live sand or live rock, everything I can find in my area (Omaha, NE) is pretty low quality stuff. I know of a few places but have no clue how good or bad any of the places are. If anyone knows places to go or to avoid please let me know. I would hate to go through the trouble of driving all over the city just to find alot of dead base rock or something I could find here. I would also hate to be in the city and not get to a really nice store just because I couldn't find it in the phone book. Any thoughts or ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks

I'd save my money as far as the live sand goes. Just get some good l.r. and let it seed sand from where ever. Most live sand product are a big waste of money and you'd probably be better served spending your money on other supplies. Sorry never been to KC.

Well I ended up going to another city on a different trip, but thanks for the reply. I should have clarified a bit, but I meant live sand that was from an actual tank. There is a lfs here that will sell sand from other peoples established tanks and meant something like that, not the general "live sand" that has nothing really in it besides bacteria.
