Anyone from Rhode Island

I bet it's changed a whole lot since I was there.

Is the pizza place still there that's one street up off the main street - the opposite way from Thames St? Dang, I can't remember the name of the place. They had a really good spinach pizza!

I grew up in Virginia where we had white and black people for the most part. I had never experienced a big ethnic culture. I was amazed by the divisions between the Italians, the Portugese and the Irish in the RI area. It was neat to see that and experience some of the food!

Is the 4th of July parade just as crazy as ever?

I can think of a few good pizza places in that area Sams, Bristol House of Pizza, and Wood St bakery all of them are good and still in business. Yes the 4th of July is still crazy.

Yeah and I am 100% Portugese and love the diffrent ethnic cultures.

Sams! That's it!

I think it is (or was) owned by two brothers. When I lived there, the dog training school was in the big white building across from the park. There was a dry cleaner business next door then a little gelatto/coffee shop on the corner. The lady that ran the coffee shop dated the guy that owned the pizza shop. Her name is MaryAnn. I can't remember him but I can picture him. Wow it's been a long while!

Is the Top Side still there?

My maiden name is Irish. When I would have to give my name for something, I would have people say "Good Irish name" and it puzzled me as I had never thought about being Irish before. (I'm way more German and English than Irish LOL)

I quickly learned that I didn't like Italian men...or rather the attention from them....or rather how they MISinterpreted a look and a smile from me. In the south, you make eye contact with people, you nod or smile or otherwise acknowledge that they exist. You don't do that in RI or you get unintended attention....at least I did!

I'm from Rhode Island! I live in West Greenwich though! I visit Bristol all the time since the girly lives down there :) anyway for pet stores there's one in Westerly called Pet safari. I used to get all my fishies from there!

Also if any of you are interested I have a 30-40 gallon hex tank that I might be looking to get rid of. the silicon on one of the joints has a hole in it, but otherwise an awesome tank, I would repair, i just have to many tanks right now. Just let me know if intersted.
