cyborob - It is porbably not broken, the impeller and well tend to gunk up on AC filters which will prevent them from restarting if they go off. Remove the filter, unscrew the motor from the bottom, remove the impellor and clean the magnet, then clean the well it sildes into. Will bet dollars to donuts it starts right up.
ps- Before you screw the motor back in, plug it in long enough to determine if it is spinning or not.
