Anyone have a bengle/ocicat?

OMG....I SO WISH I COULD GET THEM NOW!!!!
I was just browsing through a list of rescues, and I'm dying...I wanna go get them!!!! I just can't right now, where I'm at is small and no pets but I'll be moving hopefully next month if everything goes through but just look how cute and I can get them BOTH!!! It is so tempting to just go get em anyway, I mean it is only a month and they are kittens now I wouldn't think they would need toooo much space :evil_lol:

I'd recommend mixes to start with and since they don't know who the daddy is its not another bengal...

I LOL at the kitten not needing to much space. Really if you can get 2 at the same time it would be better for you and them. They won't feel so lonely and they won't constantly be under foot. If you get 1 I promise you will end up with a 2nd one anyway.

I'm not even a cat person but every time I look and see a papered Bengal in the area I want to buy one. Good thing I'm broke..

I'll do the breeder route one day, when I have 750 - 1000 to blow.

Aww they're so cute. I like ur avatar too :D
Thanks Pir!! Now I have myself thinking about them so much, I really think I have to figure a way to get them!!!!

Yep, they will be mixes...but their mom looks wonderful!! I'm sure the kittens will need space, I'm just trying to rationalize my thoughts that it will only be about a month, a little less hopefully since they have to be neutered/spayed first and then will be a week after that before I could get them . Once moved the house I am looking at *crosses fingers*, has a room I could build them tree climbers and stuff in cause it basically would be a "extra" room.
OMG, the full breed ones are GORGEOUS!!! The price tag pretty much stops me on that for sure!!! Breeding them would be fun....need ALOT more space before I even think about that one.

one of my profs in college had one he brought in to show off a few times. It got stolen and he found it on craigslist about a week later and got it back.

Even though mine are mixes this is the reason they are indoor cats only.

People steal them because of their looks. Even if they are microchipped if picked up by animal control most times the people at the pound will take them home instead of calling you and telling you they were found.

I mean buy from a breeder. To even think about breeding would cost tens of thousands as you'd need to get 2-4 of the early generations F2/3.

Have you looked at state laws for exotic cats in your area? Since they are mixes it shouldn't matter but before spending big dollars on a pure you might want to make sure its legal to have or if you need a permit.

OMG, I would be so mad!!! Hope he took the police with him to get it!

Hmmm, good idea I never thought about that. If I do go through a breeder I will check that out first...that would suck to spend all the money it would take to get one only to have it taken away!!!

I have a friend with a Bengal and she's a wonderful cat. He has 2 dogs and they get along fine. And they're very beautiful! We have an apple head siamese and 3 "just cats". Good luck Lady G!
Ice, your Pongo looks like the boss of the house, they're both beautiful:)

He did he also found the 2 field trial/conformation champion brittany spaniels that went missing a few days after the bengle and a number of other animals that didn't belong to the people. He also put up security cameras around his place.

I found a kitten about 3-4 weeks old a year ago on the shoulder of a highway on my way home from work... The vet said he appears to be a Bengal mix because of his spotting on his sides. I sure love him dearly, but he is hyper!! He eats everything he can get his mouth on, plastic, rubber bands, ANYTHING. We always have to always watch him and keep everything out of his reach for his safety and shut him in a "cat proof" room when no one is home. He especially LOVES spirulina fish flakes! I've caught him grab and take off with my bag of fish food so many times when I was feeding fish and set it down for a second... He also wants to climb and jump off of everything. He loves to be carried around, but rolls on his back because he likes to look at the world upside down. He'll jump in the shower at every opportunity he can get. He's the naughtiest yet most lovable cat ever! I think I own the feline match of "Marley and Me." Anyway, no guarantee on what he is or if he really has any bengal, but just thought I'd share my experiences.

We have 2 bengal cats. Odie and Indie. They have same father but different Mothers and were born just a few weeks apart. We bought them from a local breeder here in CT.
We love them dearly. I do recommend getting two at the same time if you swing it. They are very social and if you don't have them a playmate you are IT!! We also have a dog, a Standard poodle. They all get along great without issues.
A few things we have had to get used to: They are in the middle of anything you are doing all the time. They come to greet everyone at the door. They love to climb. Odie thinks he needs to sleep in the tallest point of whatever room he is in. They constantly know my lights off my tanks. They broke the brace on my 55 cause they use it as a launching point to and from the staircase. When you want to sleep is when they decide a nice game o chase and howl is in order. They are extremely vocal. They call each other if they can't find each other. They have both been to the emergency vet for various injuries. If you can afford it...I highly recommend VPI pet insurance

We love them. Indie is the brown one, Odie is the silver. They are called marbled. Not the best pics, but all I could find quickly!!

Oh yeah...we have 2 kids a 4 year old and eight year old. Both cats love my 8 year old...they are still trying to forgive my 4 year old for his "hugs" when he was younger. But, neither have ever scratched, bitten or otherwise harmed either kid. I can't imagine having a different cat actually!!
