anyone have a zebra pleco?

One of my LFS had them for 150 CAD a few weeks ago and now they're 300 or 500 for two.

I always liked them, but even when they were 150, they were too much.

I was asking about them in my lfs the other day and they can get me a pair but the price is very steep.Once I can dedicate a tank to breeding them then I'll get a couple, a couple of my members have them.

I would but I'm on the other side of the pond....that and I cant even get my bristlenoses to breed

Just a suggestion too hans, but L-46's like to be in groups with 4 or more of their own together. They also need warm discus like water at least around 82* F and again clean water, so 2-3 water changes a week are the norm.

thats ridiculously expensive, just be patient and watch aquabid, you can get them for half that price easy.

Still $80 bucks....my finance manager (aka wife) would kick my arse if I spent that on a fish.

I can't belive the price of zebra plecos nowadays $80 $90 $100 I used to see them on a regular basis for $40 that was about 7or 8 years ago. Thier a beuatiful fish but comon thats rediculess. I never bought one and never will thier are plenty of other cool looking plecos out there for half the price some even nicer than zebras IMO. As for breeding them good luck! i know someone thats been breeding fish for 30 years and has breed king tigers queen arabesque and countless africans/ south americans but could nt breed the zebra.
