Anyone have any experience with this lighting?

I'm considering upgrading my lighting and I came across this:

Anyone know anything about these fixtures.

Also, this is for a 15 gallon. Currently I'm using just 4 x 10W CFL spiral bulbs in an incandescent hood. Would this upgrade be too much light for a tank that consists mostly of mosses / crypts / anubias? I have a pressurized CO2 system and am growing dwarf hairgrass as a carpet.

The only reason I'm thinking about changing my lighting is because the spread of my light isn't all that even, but I can't think of any way to make it more even with my current set up

thanks :thm:

I'm using 5x18w 6500 on my 29, w/diy co2 and it is great. Cant beat cfl for the price. Try moving the lights around a bit.

looks good but I'm more of a diy-er

THats a heckuva lot more light than your 4 CFLs. If you want lots of light spread more evenly across your tank, thats a good way to go. I just went from 2x20w CFLs on a 20high to this(except I have the freshwater bulbs) and have seen explosive plant growth in my paludarium.

That's a good setup, but I have no experience with that brand. Personally for a ready made unit I would go with a Hagen Glo in the same size. A few bucks more, and bulbs aren't included(which lets you pick the ones you want), but when you're talking about electricity around water you have to be careful. The text of the website is badly translated and to me that's a red flag. What would it cost to have someone proofread it?

I also wonder what kind of customer service you will receive from them if the fixture does not work out or there are shipping problems.

Someone on one of the other forums said he tried dealing with whoever was selling the fixture and that they were rather awful (didn't speak English, were unclear about things, etc.). I ended up ordering a Hagen Glo since it's supposedly better than the Nova Extreme for only $20 more dollars (yay for Ebay) and it apparently also comes with some (not all) of the hardware necessary to hang it (which is how I want to mount the light over my tank).
