Does anyone have any experience with the Diodon Hystrix or Diodon Holocanthus? I'm planning a 150g w/ 50 gallon refugium setup and this is my choice to start with(not cycle with).
What I wanna know is what kind of fish would be compatible with these species? What kind of corals and/or invert whould be compatible?

I know they eat shrimps and snails but does anyone have any experience keeping them together? I currently have a 15G nano setup with a few shrimps/snails/crabs and one chromis. For corals I have 1 finger leather, Pulsing xenia(thats spreading like crazy), many red mushrooms, and a quite large what I believe to be aipasia.

I'm planning to keep the inverts(snails/crabs/shrimp) in the refugium but wanna know what can go into the main display tank.

Any help whould be great! Thanx ppl!!

" They are nocturnal predators, with strong jaws for feeding on snails, hermit crabs, and sea urchins. Just as some birds are able to crack open nuts with their strong beak, the porcupinefish can crack open the external skeleton of a sea urchin with its strong beak-like mouth."

"The porcupinefish is a shy creature and will retreat if approached by divers. They secrete a toxic skin substance so are usually considered poisonous, although they have been known to be eaten in Hawaii and Tahiti. In the orient the dried, inflated bodies are sold as tourist novelties. And on some Pacific islands, the dried skins were used in the past as war helmets. Porcupinefish are also collected for private and public show aquariums. They are not normally caught for human consumption."

from that I would assess that this is a species that wont do well with inverts but may be in a REEF style With Caution
