anyone have e-cats?

Other than what's listed in profiles, I don't know much. I think Mojo has one--you might want to check out his site and see if he can share any tips (aquamojo.com). I do know they get big!

I was looking at scotcat and that site if I remember correctly stated there were several types of e-cats. Probably different sizes. Most fairly large though. If you have a fairly large tank and don't mind getting a shock now and then go for it.

If you get an electric catfish don't put it in a tank with any other fish. I bought 3" one about a year ago and put it in a tank with a 5" tinfoil barb. When I got up the next morning my tinfoil could only swim in a small clockwise circle and he had a funny bend in his body. The catfish went back to the pet store that day and the tinfoil never completely recovered. They can kill or cause severe damage to other fish even whe they are small.
