Anyone have fish fears...I do. Let's Share!

My fish related fears are all connected with swimming with them. We would spend time at a friends cabin in northeastern Indiana..and would not swim at night because the gar might get us.
I didn't like when the fish would come up and nip you when you were swimming. I have a mole on my ankle and I think every d**n fish in that lake thought it was something to eat!!! :sad

And I might add..I think those fish are wearing my earrings: I lost several in the lake.

(also making a mental note to ship a box of hornwort to Kasakato..I got lots now :D )

Sometimes I wake up at night in a cold sweat afraid that my tiger barbs broke out of their tank.....and robbed me!

I was hesitant to clean the piranha tank I had but it had full gorwn red bellies. Thhey never jumped out, but would always moved round and bump things at night. IMO, they are not agressive fish at all. They are very shy and act agressively only by fear/hunger. It seems that they think everyone wants to kill them and the only way to survive is to kill them first :-p

I would move your tank not because of them jumping out, but because I wouldn't want to spill any water on my bed. Water is bound to get out of the tank by accident during a water change or from the fish jumping.

Just for your reference, if a piranaha would jump out of the tank, its not just going to sit there. Expect it to flip around with every muscle in its body. You might find it 10 or more feet from the tank if it does jump out.

Six months I have had my RBP's. I bought two, and I still have two...No spills, no diseases, no problems...They were the size of a quater when I bought them, now they are approx 5 inches...

Fear of fish? Are you kidding? Maybe you should be afraid of yawning while on a lake and have one jump into your throat and gag you to death? Or what's that little one that follows the warm flow and swims up your urethra? As for fish jumping on the floor...you've got a boot don't you? And there's a lfs down the street? Git 'er done!!! :p :D

LOL I think you misunderstood the topic....Its a fear of what will happen, not a fear of fish.... I don't think anyone would be here if they had a fear of fish

I have a fear of swimming with certain kinds of fish too. I'm terrified of barracuda (they have teeth of death I tell you!). Some friends went to Mexico and told me they swam with barracuda there and I was like eek.

Aren't we all? At least those of us that feign it anyway. It's a cover to TRY to fool everyone. 'Course they(women) know there's just a boy in there pretending! :D

What about the story of a grouper swallowing up a child (forget where that was)? That's scary! Family day out...everyone having fun...gulp!...Holy $h*!, where's Jimmy? THAT gives me the creeps! Does this fit in sublime1184? ;)
