I am thinking about getting a fish tattoo soon (found someone on craigslist doing tats for 50$ an hour!) And im thinking Koi or Goldfish... a girlie one of course ;) I wanna get some ideas and really, i am just curious how many fishaholics on here have one? Show em off!
:headbang2:

Not knocking the listing on craigslist, but I would go and do one professionally if I was u. I have 1 but not a fish one. It's a fairy. You would be putting your self at to many risk of having a pretty much home tatoo, and remember you will forever have this ta that you are thinking about getting. Just think your grandkids will be asking about it.

Don't get a tattoo from some person you do not know. Meet with the artist, view samples of their work, ask for references. If they do not have any references, stay away. If they do have references, call them! Look for former employers, and people they tattooed.

Ask your friends who have tattoos where they went. Find recommendations. A tattoo is a permanent thing, you don't want it to be screwed up, or get hepatitis from unclean equipment.

This is my only aquatic-related tattoo. My best friend designed it for me. The picture was taken 3 days after I got 8 hours of work done, so it was still healing. I still have about 4 more hours of work left. The colors need to be more vibrant!

I agree do your research.. if you take time to research fish..take even more time researching the tattoo artist.

@$50 per hour it leads me to believe there is a good reason for that.

either an apprentice(usually will do tat's free or for a minimal charge to cover ink and supplies)
or the work is not that good.
a good artist will have a waiting list. I have seen them where they are scheduled months in advance.
the shop owner, where I am learning, is easily scheduled out for 2-4 weeks (depends on the piece) ashley kimball was that a single 8 hr session? adding more to this?
not sure about vibrant colors..there ares ome pretty good inks out now but I suspect contrast will make this tat 'POP'(slang for stand out) btw nice tat

Um sorry, but it is a PROFESSIONAL. he works at a tattoo shop and that is where he will doing it. FYI

My son owns a tat shop. They charge in excess of $100.00 an hour. As Star pointed out, he has a waiting list that sometimes is more than 8 weeks out. Yes, he is that good! Also yes, I have one that he did on my bicep that is a cover-up.

Yea, if there not booked, there not the best lol. The guy that did my tat is booked for Four months.

Who's to say this person isn't profesional? Maybe maybe not. I'd check him out. Ask to see his portfolio. If you like his work go for it. Decide what you want first then shop around. Always ask to see portfolios. If you don't like their work don't use them to save a money. I have several but none fish. Quality over price everytime.

I agree. Same with my guy. He moved back to new orleans to be with his family after katrina and I haven't got a tat since.
