Anyone have/had a reef lobster?

Which color/species?
What size tank?
What size tank do you consider minimum?
Successful tankmates?
Failed tankmates?
Filtration?

I am considering one and am just trying to get some feedback from those with experience.

I think CPD has a purple lobster in her system.

I had a slipper lobster...for a day. I only have a 25 galllon tank and I read that they were very active and got too big for my size tank. They also supposedly are "bulldozers" and I didn't want him knocking my coral over. But to be honest, he came in my "package" of live rock and he just kind of freaked me out. Like a cockroach. But bigger and faster. I took him to the LFS and they sold him within hours. So, obviously somebody likes them!

I have a purple lobster in mine. He's about the size of a small crayfish. I have a 55 gallon tank.

As a pet he's a huge disappointment since he constantly hides. Over the past year I've had him, I've seen him out and about maybe 5-10 times and mostly at night. Every once and a while during the day he darts out for food but most of the time he hides.

I'm far happier with my shrimp since they are out in the tank all the time.

I do:grinyes: Like Darthgoby's lobster though, he's a huge disappointment as I hardly ever see him. I've certainly not had any problems with him eating livestock etc. He's in a 180 gal which is overfed:grinyes:
