I just bought a crayfish today. It's a good 5-6 inches. It's currently in my new 180.

Problem is I intend on moving my fish from my old tank very soon. And in that old tank I have some parrot fish, jack dempseys, big red devil, AND an eel between 18-24 inches.

Anyone gonna die lol?

What kind of eel? The eel may possibly do the cray in. I'd be wary of mixing them together...

the cray is quite large. From the tip of the tail to his outstretched claws, he's about 6-7 inches.

The eel was simply labeled American Eel at the LFS when I bought it.

The eel is very calm and nonaggressive towards its tank mates so im more worried that the crayfish will slice him up since the eel has such soft skin.

Do you have another tank? I think an eel and a crayfish could be a bad mix. You can probably get away with a crayfish and surface dwelling fish(you may have some losses), but I think bottom dwellers and crayfish will be a problem one way or the other. There may be smaller crays that could work with bottom dwellers, but that does not sound like what you have at all.

i know that crayfish, and plecos do very well together, if the pleco, of course, is very large....small ones will get eaten....i had the same problem...but depends what kind of eel

All of these are going to find that cray a tasty snack, no need to worry about your eel...

Bye-Bye crayfish :(

No way would any cray survive for long with that stock in the tank. You'd better get a ten gallon tank for your cray if you would like to keep it. They don't need much in the way of room.
