Anyone here own shell dwellers?

Can the shell dwellers live with other cichlids from Lake Tanganyika? Anyone know where I can find a few for purchase online?

yeah see what i do is i go to the fresh market and buy escargot shells stuffed with those little smelly boogers aye, i usually buy about 15 of them take a chop stick and dig the foul smelling creatures out cook them and eat them believe it or not they tatse pretty good to me but boy do they stink aye, then i boil the shells for a while and let them dry outside in the heat for a week.. later jpappy..

hello trigger9 yes they can i have mine with julidochromis transcriptus the smaller of the juli species i also have brevis shell dwellers sunspot species and currently i have a foursome of very tiny neolamprologus mustax juvies in there with them my colony of multi's stay on one side my colony of brevis stay on the other side the juli's free roam unless they get to close to the multi fry that i have right now and the mustax stay mid level in the plant region but i recieved the mustax as tiny fry from my bro and they were introduced in with my multi fry at the same time and honest i think the mustax believe they are multi's hehehe funny stuff to see them hang with them, an on line source, i have two on whom i've dealt with before and had success, one is www.cichlids.net and the other is www.bluegrasscichlids.com both usually have them in stock if i could catch a few of mine in the 55gal i could hook you up but i would have to tear down my setup aye, i do have a threesome pulled for a buddy of mine that are in my 10gal co-2 planted fry tank if he doesnt want them i can hook you up on them but i do have to get back with him aye out of respect he is currently breeding cyps and i really would like to have some aye.. good luck buddy if i hear something different on them i will notify you by PM..

I have two gold occies in my 20-gallon, with at least a dozen fry. Only other thing I have in there is a half dozen zebra danios, although I want to remove them and put in another pair of Tanganyikan cichlids. I liked the idea of the rainbows though, and may go that way instead.

preacox rainbowfish will do nicely in a 20gal as a top water fish, but stir clear of the bigger rainbows like Bosemani

Cool that many in a 20gal wait did april say it was a long or high oh well i like to cram as many fish i can hehehe i am thinking on adding about 10 of them to my 120gal ..
