Anyone know about Opae'ula/Red Volcanic/ Hawaiian shrimp?

I got the salt up and have added java fern, It seems to be doing okay so far.

I ordered some shrimp, and the man said he would throw in some live rock? I asked the LFS about live rock in brackish, and they had no idea what I was talking about.

what kind of base water are you suppose to use? R/O or Distilled?

I am using filtered tap water with a PH of 7.8 to 8.0 as base water, top offs are all done with RO water.

Some of the organisms on the live rock will survive some will not, but it will add some good bio film stock to your tank to grow and feed your shrimp.

Yes my Java fern did OK at first, but slowly died off sadly....
