Hello,I just bought 4 balloon mollies. 2 males and 2 females... I have heard they are difficult to propagate ,Is that really true. Also was wondering if may have been a bad idea to put them in one of my guppy tanks. It's a 55 gallon with lots of plants. Thanks..

I believe they're just like any other mollie except they've been genetically mutated in a lab. I don't like them for this reason. They remind me of an english bulldog. Look awkward and it looks like a struggle for them to just get around.

hmmmm well thanks for the good news..I didn't know they were genetically mutated. Now I feel bad for them. They are swimming around pretty well. I think they are cute but what do I know, I like bulldogs too. : ]

They'll be OK with guppies. Just care for them like any other molly. What kills me is to see these "tatooed" balloon mollies where they actually tatoo these fish with stuff on the side of their bodies.

I've seen the tattooed fish before, they were on parrot fish. I felt bad for them. I don't even have a tattoo . I sure wouldnt support that. I guess maybe I should have looked into these before I made my purchase.

I bought 4 female balloon mollys at PetSmart about 3 months ago. Within a week 2 died, but the other 2 are doing just fine. They stay around the top of my 75G take, staying mostly near the plants and driftwood structures. I was worried some of their tank mates might harass them, like the rainbow fish or festivums, but nobody even pays attention to them.

Well they are eating and seem happy so far.Jack's pets has a 2 week guarantee .Yayyyyy
