I am moving there in the summer and was hoping there were some good fish stores in the area. if anyone lives there could you give me some recommendations
I'll second RMS Aquaculture... There are about 4-5 of them in the metro area, the best one is in Willoughby, on the East side of Cleveland. There is also an Aquarium Adventure on the west side of cleveland in Brooklyn that is pretty nice. Thirdly, there is somethingfishy, which is also on the near west side of Cleveland. I've never been there, though they advertise themselves as Cichlid specialists, if that is your thing.
For marine aquariums, aquatic technology in Columbia Station can't be beat.
That's about it for fish only stores that I can think of in the Cleveland area. Hope that helps.
I thought when I moved to Orlando that I'd be in tropical fish store shangrila..but..I reallllly miss the stores in Erie, Pa and the surrounding area. Flat out..the stores here S....K !
Try Neptunes Corner. It's a hole-in-the-wall place just on the west side. It's run by a very knowledgable Croatian gentleman. They have really healthy fish, and well maintained setups for all of their animals. GREAT prices on tanks...got a 75gal for $80 WITH TAX! Best deal I've seen in a while. They have a lot of oddballs too.
Never heard of Neptune's corner. Where is it on the west side? On a side note, I went to SomethingFishy for the first time today. GREAT store. I can't recommend it enough. Knowledgable staff and the best looking fish I've seen in the Cleveland area. They mainly deal in Cichlids, but they have some other fish also. They did have the biggest Tiger Barbs I've ever seen.
i just started, but i went to aquarium adventure on ridge off of 480. So far so good, they seem knowledgeable and consistant with the advice that i have been getting here.
Aquarium Adventure is fairly good, great looking, huge store, and semi-knowledgable staff. I say semi because while most of them are pretty good, I have gotten the occasional "I just want to ring up the sales" type person...
Not to sound like a schill, but if you're looking for Cichlids I can't recommend SomethingFishy enough... Great fish and really knowledgable staff (particularly the owner)
