anyone know what this issue is ?

I have a female Stappersi shelldweller with a swollen vent area. She had a bit of an odd shape to her when I bought her, but I didn't think much of it. She acts like nothing is wrong, is just as active and eats as well as the other two who share the tank with her. I'm just curious as to what this could be...looks like a hernia or something....lol

Do you think she swallowed a piece of gravel? It does look odd.

if it's growing that isn't a good sign. I've seen pictures of similar things with cases of internal parasites, bacterial infections and tumors.... not sure exactly what it could be though.

it sure looks painful though. I hope someone who knows more than me can help out.

I don't think it's painful, if it were she would be acting out of sorts....she seems just normal as the others..with no sign in behavior that anything is amiss...
