Anyone ever ordered from LiveAquaria? If you have give me some feedback, I'm thinkin of ordering about 90lbs of liverock from them. So just want to make sure they have good feedback before I do anything to drastic
I ordered 22lbs of fiji live rock from them. I was very happy with the rocks I received. Cool shapes, purple coraline algae, and lots of neat hitchhikers came out of the rocks eventually. that is some of the rock in my avatar.
I've ordered from them recently. Actually had to take use of that 14 day stay alive as my anthias didn't make it (died basically within a day or two of shipment). I had to argue with them that a PH of 8.3 and a nitrate of more than 1 but less than 5 is okay in a Reef tank (we were talking about fish dying, not corals dying). He had to keep referring back to his supervisor, who also didn't know anything. He then told me some "tech support" person would have to talk to me, didn't hear back by the evening so I called to speak with someone else. This person actually knew something and I guess understood my annoyance of never receiving a call and being told my tank was not right. I got a refund for all 3 anthias PLUS shipping. So I only paid $29.99 for a purple firefish shipped to my door.
It's a mixture of a bad experienced turned good. They are a decent company as long as you get someone who actually understand what you are talking about.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered 22lbs of premium Live Pre-cured rock. Total cost 89.99 plus shipping, came out to $ 109. It came in 4 pieces total. Miserably looking rock, bad shape (basically round/oval balls), barely any coraline growth and absolutely no hitchhikers. I wish I had gotten mad enough and returned the LR to them. As today only one piece is in my DP, the rest is in a 10G tank w/ a powerhead. To me that was waste of money. Perhaps I got somebody that was pretty mad during their shift. lol And that was the first time I had ordered from Liveaquaria.com
I ordered the "Super Select" and it has 100% coraline algae coverage and TONS of helpful hitchhikers. Seriously worth the extra money.
But about LiveAquaria, they seem to have really good customer service. Even though I sometimes get bad fish from them (dying withing 24 hours with more sensitive fish thriving) they always give me credit no questions asked.
