I've had one for a year and a half and have always found it to be quite noisy. I mean noise due to hum and vibration from the bump rather than air bubbles or splashing of water. I have to run mine without the cover over the pump as the vibration causes the cover to buzz. Recently it was sounding even louder (more hum) so I took it apart to inspect the pump for any damage. I dont see anything - no scratches or scoring or anything out of the ordinary. Are these things just noisy in general? I have enough vibration to cause a penny to vibrate off the top of the pump. I've been thinking of swapping the eheim pump on top with something else but not sure what I can rig up that would be very quiet. Magdrive?
