I bought a Current USA light from them - very fast and efficient. Good information along the way too - confirmation emails, tracking #'s, etc.
Also - compare Dr. Foster's return policy with other web sites. MANY say in the fine print that you can return an item only in original, unopened packaging (unless defective of course). What if you don't like something or it just doesn't fit/work they way you want like my $100 light purchase? Dr. Fosters takes returns for any reason - that gave me the confidence to order something pretty dang expensive from a web site.
I buy from them too, I've bought live deals as well as electronics and stuff needed for the tank. The live things came quick and in great shape as did the miscellaneous stuff. Actually, I bounce between Big Als Online and Liveaquaria for me needs.
Ive purchase supplies from them several times - quick shipping and never had any issues with the products. I have not yet made a livestock purchase - the shipping seems crazy, but based on the LFS stock, I am considering it.
I just bought some Malaysian Driftwood from them earlier this week, no problems and it was speedy service, the items shipped Thursday and arrived Saturday.

I to have purchased many supplies from them over the years (I also have six cats) but never anything live. I'm considering it for the same reason as you, the stock in the lfs around here leave alot to be desired! My only concern is that they have a minimum order amount. To get what I want, would entail adding four guppies and 2 cherry shrimp to my 20g all at once. Currently there are only three zebra danios in there. I've had them for two years now so the tank is well established. I guess I'd just have to up my water changes for a week or two...
