I know i'm probabally going to make some people upset with this post, However I'm curious if anyone has had any sucsess putting corals in with a Blueface Angel? if so what types?

I designed my system around the Blueface and i know there not Reef safe, However just looking to add some more colour without having fake corals!

Throw in some zoas and watch closely. If it nips at them you have your answer. No 2 fish are the same so without trying your really not going to know. Beautiful fish though!

whos gonna get mad about it

Thanks guys, the last site i was part of was against me trying corals. I'm willing to try the trial and error method to see witch corals work.

So far I currently have leathers, torch coral, mushrooms and star polyps. He nipped at button polyps so i removed them. The umbrella and mushrooms got nipped at first However, has not touched them in 2 weeks! Sometmes he acts just like a Trigger and is very curious and just bites it for no reason.

Are there any corals that could be poisonous to the angel if he eats it?

Worst thing that can happen is you try a couple small inexpensive corals, and if your fish goes to war with them... it won't work!

Personally, I find nothing wrong with trying something, as long as you have the intention to do what is needed ASAP if something isn't going to work. I was given crap for trying something rather harmless. It's your tank, experiment with it.

So about the Tank,Blueface started 8mths ago in a 90gal sumpless tank with 80lbs live rock his only tankmates were the fairy wrasse and inverts. He has grown 3" in this time frame. As of 3wks ago moved his home to a 125 short with a sump/refugium. This tank is still to small for him However, in a years time we will be finishing or basement where his new home will be a 220 or 265.
