Anyone use a power head?

cool deal on the timer issue so the fish will have time to stay out of the jacuzzi yeah it sounds too powerful for the fish and you answered your own question so to say if when the powerhead is on they stay to the other side and when turned off they swim about than they are telling you its too strong i believe AZOO makes a power sweep power head that oscillates and is pretty cool in that size of tank not how much water you have but the actual size being that its a corner tank a powerhead can be a powerful situation as for my 120gal i have a powerhead at each end of the tank and posses no issues that flap your talking about where you can flip it up or down also twists left and right or clockwise or counter clockwise to provide a different direction of flow, good luck buddy..

Thanks!!! I actually put the diflector up more so now it's basically just hitting the top of the water. (What it was designed for in the first place...lol) and now everything is fine...I tried the timer, that also worked....

cool deal buddy you may just have to play with it a bit to get it right, i have mine pointed to the surface as well..

with the airstones breaking surface and the filter breaking surface... whats the need for the powerhead??? most of the fish we r keeping aren' from real fast moving waters..... just seems like a waste IMO
just my 2 cents

You're probably right, however, I no longer have a film on the surface of my water. And as for the oxigen, I now have tiny bubbles throughout my tank, instead of just going up. I know that the air stones create air bubble effects for show, and the powerhead actually puts air in the water, more O2 for the HO2....lol

well for my 120gal i have 2 Rena XP3 canister filters where the tube returns about half way down so no surface agitation i added two powerheads at each end of the tank to create the fine mist of bubbles when you attach a air tube line to each powerhead but this is for my viewing and what i like about my tank..

homeuser i understand why you are doing it because there is a difference with just an air pump with an air stone compared to a powerhead with a attached air tube for a fine mist bubble scene its what i like as well..

take care my friends..
