anyone use KENS FISH fish food?

I find the hardest part of getting Ken's food is deciding on a just a couple kinds at a time. He was very helpful when getting foods for my new discus. All my fish LOVE both the earthworm pellets & flakes but I like to feed a variety of types & brands.

I also like to feed a variety of types and brands, i feel its the best way to go. It just so happened that I ran out of bloodworms...and brine shrimp...AND low on wafers all at the same time. Since setting up the 2nd 75 gal tank i've just been flyin through the food! So i was gonna order it all online and I had his website link saved as a favorite & have browsed it a time or 2 before finally now using it. I'm eager for it to arrive :)

Kens fish food is amazing

I refuse to purchase any other type of food.. I keep an extra bag of whatever I use stocked in the freezer.

My livebearers love the earthworm flakes.. and I also use the premium tropical flake, cichlid pellets, sinking spirulina wafers and I have used his fry food as well.

Never had a complaint that I can think of-- its always amazing how fast he ships his items too

Would it make sense for a person that has one tank (50 gallons) to buy multiple bags of Ken's food? Seems to me like it would take me forever and a day to go through it all... Still contemplating whether or not to order.... lol

Your fish will sure love you for it, but I'm not sure your wallet would.

after finding www.kensfish.com I not only ordered his food in quantity, but his meds, the AC's & other accessories. not only his is prices very reasonable so is his shipping charges. note, click on ups vs uspo cuz sometimes it's less vs the other as you add on.

since I started a 72gal BF discus tank along with a 20gal angel tank, they all love ken's flakes. but since I also stocked up on Dr.F's frozen food sale a month ago, I am stocked for a long long time! I just keep the unused unopened bags in a cool dark place.

which reminds me, gotta feed them hungry buggers!

I refurbed a bunch of used and assorted equipment over the last year and a half and Ken and his family were a huge help. Anything that he didn't have listed he would find and order for me. Impellers and bearings for old Penguin filters, HOT Magnum pcs., A/C lids, you name it - and everything was cheaper than Big Al's or the others. He doesn't have a brick and mortar presence to sustain and his family gets drafted regularly to help process orders. All very nice folks.

My biggest surprise was a couple of things that I didn't think anybody would even bother trying to ship UPS. I used to work in the exhibit biz and we regularly recvd. fluorescent lamp shipments that were destroyed. Ken ships me T-5 H.O. lamps and fixtures with never an incident. Then one day I mentioned that I had a bunch of new tanks that I needed lids for but that I really wanted glass. He says no problem. A week later the UPS guy drags three boxes, that he bounced off of his bumper in the snow, up my driveway and onto my front steps. Glass lids for my 150, 210, 110 and two different maker's 75's. Not so much as a single chip...I was amazed. Oh yeah...and at about half of what the big pet box was charging.

As for his foods, I've tried most of his private label stuff and had good results with everything except the Vitamin flake. As for the angel flake, I start with that and add some krill, some spirulina flake and powder and some of his color bright flake or astaxanthin powder. My piglet angels jump out of the water for it (of course they'll do that for jsut about anything come to think of it). A couple of my more finicky won't eat the lighter flake (I think it's the same stuff that he sells for Goldies) but the rest gets eaten fast. Even with all of the high dollar additives that I mix it's still a bargain.

Some of the small pellets aren't a big hit but the golden pearls and decap brine shrimp are a huge time saver over my BBS hatching. My scrimps thrive on his spirulina powder and the plecos usually finish the wafers off before I can finish feeding the other tanks.

Meds, water treatments, air and water pumps. I'll bet 3/4 of the hardware in my fish room came from him and I've never had a single issue or problem. Check out his price on Guardian heaters or ATI sponge filters.

Don't usually gush like this but Ken's is not only a great deal but he's a rarity in this day and age in the way that he treats his customers.

Last note...he goes through so much flake food that I can't imagine you'll ever get fresher off the shelf anywhere. It goes straight from the manufacturer to him and it's all made right here in the USA without any Chinese melamine or lead or whatever else sneakin' in. I only wish he'd figure out how to start sellin' frozen foods.

I'm sure that there may be people that have been exceptions to what I'm sayin' but they are few and far between.
