Anyone using the Current USA TrueLumen LED strips?

No, but I have read that they are the up and coming light source....low energy consumption, good light spectrum, very flexible, and long life. I have seen tanks sold in stores with the LED already mounted on them. Curious to hear from others with first hand experience.

very slick presentation there Mellow, and I am now filled with lumen-lust..but where did you see prices given? I am always suspicious of a site that lists specs but not numbers, the numbers in question tend to be on the, um, extravagant side. Yet you say they are "ballpark". do they sell direct to the public or do you have to find a dealer etc?

also their sizes are a little weird...a 12 inch then a 24 then nothing till a 36? Seems like it leaves both my 10s (20 in long) and 29 (30 in) out in the cold. er, dark. And do they not have feet of their own? They show attaching them to existing hoods, which is strange, they are so elegant and can be used without glass shields, both things I am looking for. Maybe you have to diy it...?

12" - $75
24" - $105
36" - $150
48" - $190

owowowowowow..thanks oo7genie...owowowowow. Guess that isn't bad for led but still. ow.

They are gorgeous though. And I lust for an open-top tank with high lighting.

(goes to empty pockets into Savings jar.) Maybe someday. :)

I'm definitely interested in hearing what people using LEDs for planted tanks have to say. I've been interested in the idea for a while, but haven't had the guts to pull the trigger on it.

Im serioulsy considering getting this, IF its comparable to a dual t5 ho light. I love the look of LEDs in my ten gallon when i had that light on it that came with the kit.
Hopefully someone knows if they are comparable or not...
