One of the best combos ( IMO ) is to use the XP3 for all mech filteration and use a fluidized bed filter for the bio. Best of all you can hook the fluidized bed filter up inline and you dont have to look or hear a power filter on your tank, and they only run around $50 with powerhead, Merlin, or Quicksand models I have had the best luck with. You will never outgrow the bioload on one of those unless you have a really huge tank. Works perfect for my tank, never have had any readings since it has cycled with all chichlids and feed many feeders.
