When I bring my plants home from the store. Is there anything I should do to them before I put them in my aquarium? Also, how long should I await before I add Flourish Excel?

What kind of plants are they?If any of them have weights, take the weights off and plant the stems individually.A long pair of tweezers come in handy for planting. You can find them at any small mom and pop hardware store.I found mine for $3.99.Home Depot and Lowes look at you stupid if you ask for them in those stores.

I used a chlorine dip to try and remove algae/snails and a magnesium permanganate dip for snail and snail eggs. Strange thing is I have both snails and algae in spite of it. Makes me wonder if the cost/effort/hassle was worth it. Someone with more experience may have better advice, but I'd suggest giving them a good visual inspection and planting them as soon as you can. A minimal amount of algae seems inevitable and unless you're quite persistent so are the snails. I'd also suggest using the Excel as soon as you plant.
