these are the garden hose repair parts..the one on top is used to join hose lengths

Ok I got one at lowes. Does the hose need to go over the two ring things? It's hard to get it on

try using warm water to soften the hoses up..much easier to get them to slide over the barbs.you don't have to get them all the way up to the butt ring but if you flip the clamps over you can see where the clamps 'pinch' the hose to seal

So let it sit in warm water or under a faucet ?
